The Potential of Nanomaterials for Drug Delivery, Cell Tracking, and Regenerative Medicine

Description

Recent progress in bio- and nanotechnology has led to the development of a rich variety of novel materials, precisely engineered at the nanoscale, which hold great potential to revolutionize traditional medical treatments and therapies. This special issue aims at bringing together and highlighting the latest advances in the use of nanomaterials in biomedical technologies such as drug delivery, cell tracking, imaging, and regenerative medicine. In addition, this issue aims at revealing current challenges and obstacles which lie on the path to fully integrating these promising nanomaterials-based technologies in medicine. Further, this special issue aims to provide guidance to researchers in the field of bionanotechnology and also inform the community of the future directions of the field.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will inspire research towards the next generation of nanomaterials for applications in biomedical treatments and therapies. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Nanoparticles as drug carriers
  • Nanoporous materials for drug delivery
  • Nanoparticles for cell imaging
  • Nanoparticles for cancer therapies
  • Nanomaterials for regenerative medicine
  • Cytotoxicity of nanomaterials
  • Nanomaterials for antibacterial applications
  • Cell tracking through nanomaterials
  • Scaffolds for tissue engineering
  • Hydrogels for cell and gene delivery

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jnm/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
