Multispectral, Hyperspectral, and Polarimetric Imaging Technology

Description

Multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarimetric imaging has demonstrated strong potential to retrieve critical information from the scene of interest in challenging imaging conditions. Application fields of multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarimetric imaging include specular highlight removal, information enhancement in the shadow, penetration of scattering media, investigation of the materials and biological tissues, and characterization of atmospheric aerosols and cloud particles. This special issue aims at putting together recent advances in multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarimetric imaging sensors, theory, modeling, and application. Prospective authors are encouraged to submit original papers describing current and expected challenges along with potential solutions on Multispectral, Hyperspectral, and Polarimetric Imaging Technology. Experimental and theoretical papers as well as review papers are all welcome.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarimetric imaging sensors
  • High resolution multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarimetric image acquisition
  • Calibration of multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarimetric imaging devices
  • Bionic multispectral, hyperspectral, and polarization imager
  • Theory, modeling, and numerical simulation of polarization scattering
  • 3D specular surface reconstruction for conductor and insulator surface object
  • Shadow removing and reconstruction
  • Scattering media imaging
  • Recovering atmospheric aerosols and cloud particles
  • Object detection and classification
  • Multiband polarization image fusion
  • Hyperspectral and polarimetric properties of biological tissues
  • Hyperspectral and polarimetric imaging for medical diagnostics
