Significant differences in cytokines CSF levels in relation to disease outcome. Patients were grouped independently of the etiological agents based on the outcome (nonlethal, white boxes/lethal, grey boxes) of the disease. Pairwise comparisons (Mann-Whitney test) revealed statistically significant differences for the 5 cytokines (see also Table 4).
