Lovastatin Decreases the Expression of CD133 and Influences the Differentiation Potential of Human Embryonic Stem Cells

Changes in lovastatin treated and untreated hES cells during differentiation into ectodermal, mesodermal, or endodermal lineages. hEC cells were treated with 20 μM lovastatin for 48 h; then differentiation into ectodermal, mesodermal, or endodermal lineages was initiated by applying special media. After two days of differentiation, the hES cells were collected, fixed, and stained as described in Figure 1.
