Phylogenetic trees based on human acyl CoA synthetases (ACSs) gene sequences [38] showing the relationship of all Leishmania long-chain fatty acyl-CoA ligase orthologs (Table 1), with their nearest phylogenetic relatives. Phylogenetic trees were constructed by the neighbour-joining method as well as the maximum likelihood method as implemented in MEGA4 software. Numbers at nodes are bootstrap values (ML/NJ; xx represents no bootstrap value in NJ tree where nodes differ in both dendrograms;—represents value <50). The bar represents 0.02 substitutions per alignment position. The bar represents substitutions per alignment position.
