SEM images of the femtosecond laser induced nanowires. The linear polarized laser beam of 1 mW power irradiated the surface of zinc selenide substrate 500 times. (a) The spot size is about 3 mm, and craters were made in the center of the laser beam. (b) The length of grown nanowires is about an order of 1 μm.
