Location
Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila is an Upazila of Kishoreganj District in the Division of Dhaka with 205 villages. Kishoreganj Municipality was established in 1869 with an area of 19.57 km2. It has a population of 77165; males 52.51%, females 47.49%. Literacy rate among the municipality people is 59%.

It is located between 24°28′ and 24°24′ north latitudes and between 90°46′ and 90°50′ east longitudes.
Total cultivable land 13766 ha; single crop 17.65%, double crop 60%, and treble crop land 22.35%; land under irrigation 3239 ha. Main crops are paddy, jute, wheat, mustard seed, onion, potato, brinjal, betel leaf, and vegetables. Main exports products are jute and leather.
Main occupations
Agriculture 35.77%, agricultural labourer 17.56%, wage labourer 3.41%, industry 1.22%, business 15.22%, transport 4.97%, construction 1.57%, service 8.72%, and others 11.56%.
