PHD levels required to achieve intrinsic neutron efficiencies of 1.2 × 10−3 and intrinsic gamma-ray-neutron detection efficiencies of 1 × 10−6 as a function of thickness. The optimal discrimination capabilities can be achieved with materials in the range 25 μm–150 μm.
