A Statistical Test for Ripley’s Function Rejection of Poisson Null Hypothesis

Table 1

Number of rejections of the null hypothesis (the point process is Poisson) out of 10,000 simulations of a homogenous point process in a rectangular 10 by 15 window. The significance level is 5%, so 500 simulations are expected to be rejected. The intensity varies from 1/3 to 10 so that the expected number of points varies from 50 to 1500, covering the range of usually-studied point patterns.
