Zero of the energy scale corresponds to OH(g) and the respective metal slab at infinite separation from each other. PtML/Pd/PdIr2/Pd represents the synthesized annealed catalyst (PtMLPdIr) whereas PtML/PdIr2/Pd would be the expected catalyst without annealing (PtMLIrPd). The BE of OH on other relevant model systems is provided for comparison [58].
