Sequence alignment of RPP30 homologs from four archaea, Pyrococcus furiosus (Pfu; NP_579643), Pyrococcus horikoshii (Pho; NP_143706), Methanothermobacter thermautotrophicus (Mth; NP_275831), and Methanocaldococcus jannaschii (Mja; NP_248131) and two eukaryotes Homo sapiens (Hsa; NP_006404) and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sce; NP_011929). Block letters indicate invariant residues and boxes indicate residues with a global similarity score >0.7. The secondary structure observed in the homologous Pho crystal structure [14] is depicted above the alignment. Alignment was performed using CLUSTALW [15] and colored according to similarity with a Risler scoring matrix [16] using the program ESPript [17].
