PH1: An Archaeovirus of Haloarcula hispanica Related to SH1 and HHIV-2

Transfection of Har. hispanica cells with PH1 DNA. Varying amounts of nonproteinase K-treated PH1 DNA were introduced into cells of Har. hispanica using the PEG method [64]. Cells were then screened for infective centres by plaque assay. Data shown is the average of three independent experiments, performed in duplicate. Error bars represent one standard deviation of the mean. If protease-treated DNA was used, no transfectant plaques were observed.
