A diagram showing a differentiation pathway for HS-EPC derived from bone marrow origin. The hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells were selectively adhered to the culture plates and proliferated/differentiated in the presence of BMEC-CM in vitro. EPCs generated in this in vitro model most likely are originated from hematopoietic stem cells or their early progenitors rather than from angioblsts or mesenchymal stem cells.
