Effect of molecular sieves (3 × 1.5 mm) on the synthesis of isopropyl acetate. A control was also maintained (without molecular sieves) for performing esterification. The reaction mixture containing 100 mM isopropanol and 75 mM acetic acid and silica-bound biocatalyst in n-heptane was incubated at 55°C temperature under shaking for 9 h.
