A Method for Fast Assessment of OP/CB Exposure in the Japanese Quail (<i>Coturnix coturnix japonica</i>) Using Combined Esterases Enzyme Activity as Biomarkers

<table>Substrate preference for blood plasma sample (nmol min<sup>−1</sup> mL<sup>−1</sup>) and liver homogenate sample (nmol min<sup>−1</sup> g<sup>−1</sup>) preparations. Carboxylase enzyme activity was measured in the presence of individual substrates (final concentration was 2 mM for PrTChI and PSA while 1 mM for BuTChI and AcTChI) and the maximum rate recorded. All values in the figure are the mean ± SE of fifteen individuals quail and each is assayed in duplicate.</table>
