Peromyscus as a Mammalian Epigenetic Model

(d) Age-matched heterozygous ANb animal exposed only to standard rodent chow. All animals shown within 4 days post weaning (24–28 days postnatal). All animals used in laboratory studies presented were bred or derived from stocks kept at the Peromyscus Genetic Stock Center. Most species (including all those discussed below) may be kept in standard mouse cages. Peromyscus are kept on a 16 : 8 light/dark cycle (rather than a 12 : 12 cycle) to facilitate breeding. All experiments presented were approved by the University of South Carolina Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
