The Effects of Exurbanization on Bird and Macroinvertebrate Communities in Deciduous Forests on the Cumberland Plateau, Tennessee

Bird species richness measured at the per-point scale increased with increasing exurbanization. The number of bird species detected during 5 minute point counts was higher at points that had higher proportions of impervious cover around them (linear regression: =.010, = 0.22, df = 1,27).
