Treatment with SH-053-2′F-R-CH₃ (0.1 mg/kg, i.v.; patterned bars) normalizes the aberrant increase in the number of spontaneously firing dopamine neurons (expressed as cells/track) in methylazoxymethanol acetate- (MAM-) treated animals (a). There was no effect of SH-053-2′F-R-CH₃ treatment in control animals (open bars, (a)–(c)) or on firing rate and burst activity in MAM animals (dark bars; (b)-(c)) (, two-way ANOVA, Holm-Sidak post hoc; –7 rats/group) [27–38].
