Nociceptin Signaling Involves a Calcium-Based Depolarization in Tetrahymena thermophila

Calcium chelators inhibit the behavioral response to 50 μM nociceptin-NH2 in Tetrahymena thermophila. EGTA (closed circles) reduces avoidance to 20% (near baseline) at a concentration of 50 μM.
