Barrow type*. Type A fistulas are direct shunts between the internal carotid artery and the cavernous sinus. Type B, C, and D fistulas are dural shunts. B between meningeal branches of the internal carotid artery and the cavernous sinus. C between meningeal branches of the external carotid artery and the cavernous sinus. D between meningeal branches of both internal and external carotid arteries and the cavernous sinus, ICS: inter-cavernous sinus. |
