The corresponding coronal CT (b) and fused FDG-PET/CT (c) demonstrate no abnormality and the areas with increased FDG uptake correspond to regions of fat density (arrows). This is the characteristic appearance of hypermetabolic brown fat on FDG-PET/CT.
