HNE titration by CeEI. HNE was preincubated in 200 mM Tris buffer pH 8.0, for 10 min at 37°C, with increasing amounts of CeEI, previously titrated using a standard trypsin solution. The residual activity of the enzyme was assayed with 0.20 mM MeOSuc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Val-pNA as substrate and followed by the absorbance at 405 nm.
