HNE (6.0 nM) in 200 mM Tris buffer pH 8.0 was preincubated for 5 min at 37°C with or without GAGs (300 nM). After that, MeOSuc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Val-pNA (0.10 to 2.5 mM) was added, and the hydrolysis was followed by the absorbance in 405 nm.
