Bootstraps values (1,000 replicates) are given at the branch nodes; branches reproduced in less than 70% of bootstrap replicates are collapsed. Isolates NB-R2 and NB-R7 are an outgroup of commercial strains of Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. viciae. Isolates EMD-M1, BU-M3, NB-M4, NB-M5, NB-M6, NB-M7, and NB-M8 are commercial chickpea inoculant strains of M. ciceri. Isolates Leb-M1, Turk-M2, Syr-M2, and Jord-M1 are wild chickpea nodulating isolates from Middle Eastern soils.
