The 1000 V1-like basis functions learned using ICA. Two distinct populations of 256 chromatic and 744 achromatic filters were learned. The learned features are Gabor like, and they share the dark-light, red-green, and blue-yellow opponency characteristics of V1 neurons [6–8].
