From Graphite to Graphene: The Confinement of the Fermi Surface to the Line KH

Figure 6

Charge-density contours for hexagonal graphite at the experimental value of the lattice constants in the fundamental quadrangle spanned by the vectors pointing in the horizontal direction and the vector pointing in the vertical direction. In both directions the same scale, in Bohr, is used. The median of the quadrangle is the cut with the hexagonal ring. The charge-density contours , 0,025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.8 electrons Bohr−3 are indicated by the colours black, red, light-red, yellow, green, bright-blue, black, respectively. Note that the vertical midline is not a cut with the reflection plane.
