National laboratory criteria for confirmed cases.

Culture of any Legionella species from respiratory secretion or respiratory tissue
Urinary antigen test ≥10 aU/mL^2 or positive
Fourfold increase in antibody titre against L. pneumophila serogroup 1, 3, or 6
Urinary antigen test ≥5 aU/mL and <10 aU/mL^1 and positive PCR
Urinary antigen test ≥5 aU/mL and <10 aU/mL^1 and single antibody titre ≥1: 256 for L. pneumophila serogroup 1, 3, or 6
Positive PCR and single antibody titre ≥1: 256 for L. pneumophila serogroup 1, 3, or 6
