Exposure of Prostate to Lipopolysaccharide and Hypoxia Potentiates Neoplastic Behavior and Risk for Prostate Carcinogenesis In Vivo

Illustrates the gradual increase in serum PSA levels in experimentally induced prostate infection in immunocompetent mice when compared to the control group. The animal had their dorsal prostate local exposed to 1 × 105 concentration of E. coli as the source of lipopolysaccharide. The animals were allowed in a conducive environment throughout the period of the study. PSA level was determined as described in the materials and method. Data were compared with the untreated group. The experiment was repeated 3 times and the SD determined. . Error bar represent standard deviation. .
