Core profiles and the stratigraphic position of some lower intensity flood events (low energy crevasse splays) across the Carson site demonstrate how flooding interrupted mound building at the site. The crevasse that formed the linear east to west ridge that underlies the whole site is deeper than can be shown in the image.
