Nucleotide-Dependent Reprogramming of mRNAs Encoding Acetyl Coenzyme A Carboxylase and Lipoxygenase in Relation to the Fat Contents of Peanut

Northern hybridization with GDH-synthesized RNA no.3 as probe for lipoxygenase: equal amounts (15 𝜇g) of total RNAs from the control, and from 4NTP, 4NTP+NH₄Cl, NH₄Cl, ATP, 3NTP, CTP, GTP, UTP, ATP+UTP, and GTP+CTP-treated peanut seedlings were electrophoresed through 2% agarose gel, transblotted on to nylon membrane, followed by screening with ³²P-labelled cDNA of the probe. The membrane was washed with low stringency solution and autoradiographed. The 3NTP treatment was ATP+UTP+GTP solution. Northern hybridization using 28S rRNA probe no.5 gave a compact band of similar intensity [40] for each total RNA irrespective of the NTP treatment.
