The Role of Pathogenesis-Related Proteins in the Tomato-Rhizoctonia solani Interaction

Expression patterns of the chitinase (LOC544149) and peroxidase (CEVI-1) genes in the leaf samples of tomato cultivars at different time points after inoculation with R. solani (hpi, hours after inoculation). Each time point represents eight leaves from eight different plants used for RNA extraction. Gene-specific primers for each of the defense genes were used in reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Control RT-PCR reactions were carried out with specific primers for tomato actin gene. The experiment was repeated three times with similar results.
