Role of Ascorbate in the Regulation of the Arabidopsis thaliana Root Growth by Phosphate Availability

Figure 7

The sites of H 2 O 2 production in the root-hair-forming zone of the roots of Arabidopsis wild type (Col 0) and vtc1 seedlings. H 2 O 2 was visualized by DCF fluorescence. H 2 O 2 localization was determined in the differentiation zones of roots of wild-type seedlings grown on the medium containing 1 μM P (a), on the 1 μM P medium supplemented with 500 μM ASC (b), on the medium containing 1 mM P (d), or on the 1 mM P medium supplemented with 500 μM ASC (e). Seedlings of vtc1 mutants were grown on ascorbate—free media supplemented with low (1 μM) P (c) or high (1 mM) P (f) concentration.
