Production and Metabolism of Indole Acetic Acid in Root Nodules and Symbiont (Rhizobium undicola) Isolated from Root Nodule of Aquatic Medicinal Legume Neptunia oleracea Lour.

Table 5

Effect of different nitrogen sources on growth and IAA production by the Rhizobium undicola isolated from nodule of Neptunia oleracea (Lour.). The pairwise comparison showed significant difference under different nitrogen sources, growth, and indole acetic acid production of the strain N37 and between their interactions.

The bacteria were grown in yeast extract medium with 1% mannitol and L-tryptophan (0.2%). The nitrogen sources were supplemented at 0.1% level individually in the experimental sets for 24 h at 30 ± 2°C. Results presented are the mean of 3 individual experimental setups.
