Lap shear tests of microwave welded composites relative to an epoxy bonded control sample. Microwave welded composites exhibit higher modulus but lower ultimate strength. Welded composites Samples 1, 4, and 5 exhibit sudden decrease in load followed by continued load increase which is attributed to partial shear of the weld plane.
