Model fitting results revealed that the Korsmeyer-Peppas model was best fitted to the release kinetics (, highest, , lowest). Higuchi model was also close to the Korsmeyer-Peppas model. Hence test was performed for both models. It revealed significant difference between two models. Hence Korsmeyer-Peppas model was finally selected as best fitted model. Release exponent was found to be 0.580, indicating that the drug was released from the formulation by anomalous (non-Fickian) mechanism.
