q-Analysis and Its Applications
Description
The subject of quantum analysis (q-analysis) was launched in the 1920s, and has gained importance and considerable popularity during the last three decades. It leads a new method for the computation and classification of q-special functions and q-special polynomials. Over the last few decades, q-analysis has been developed into an interdisciplinary subject, and has served as a bridge between physics and mathematics. The recent interest in the subject is due to the fact that q-analysis has appeared in such areas as functional analysis (for example in q-operator theory), quantum groups, statistical mechanics, transcendental number theory, etc.
This special issue focuses on the applications of the q-analysis to various areas of mathematics and physics. We welcome both original research articles and review articles discussing the current state of the art.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- q-Umbral Analysis
- q-Sheffer-Appell polynomials
- q-Difference equations
- q-Analysis in operator theory
