Piston-core correlation between background areas and mound-seep sites at both Umitaka Spur and Joetsu Knoll. Sedimentation rates for PC701 (Oki Trough) based on tephrostratigraphy and 14C of foraminifera are shown. In the bottom, a correlation is shown between the shallowest parts of piston cores and push cores collected over the mounds. This correlation was modified from Freire [13, 14].
