Involvement of Ovarian Estradiol Biosynthesis and Pituitary FSH Expression in the Mechanism of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Stimulation of Uterine Growth in Immature Female Rats

Figure 1

(a) Dose-dependent inhibition of hCG-stimulated uterus weight gain by ICI 182,780 in 23-day-old immature female rats ( per group). Human CG was injected at a dose of 0.1 μg/100 μL/rat quasi simultaneously with 0 to 100 μg ICI/100 μL/rat and uterus weights were determined 48 h later (). (b) Inhibition of hCG-stimulated uterus weight gain by ICI 182,780 given at different times after hCG injection ( per group). Human CG was injected at a dose of 0.1 μg/100 μL/rat and then 100 μg ICI/100 μL/rat either simultaneously (as in (a)) or 4 h, 8 h, or 24 h later. Uterus weights were determined 48 h after hCG injection ().
