This table contains base composition information for the second-through-eighth nucleotides from both ends of the miRNAs. Bases shown in red are the most favored residues at positions 2 and 3 of the 5′ end; bases in magenta are the most favored residues at positions 4–6 of the 5′ end; bases in orange are the most favored residues at position 2 of the 3′ end; bases in green are the most favored residues at position 3 of the 3′ end; bases in blue are the most favored residues at position 4 of the 3′ end; and bases in purple are the most favored residues at positions 5 and 7 of the 3′ end of the miRNAs examined.
