Metastasectomy of Pulmonary Metastases from Osteosarcoma: Prognostic Factors and Indication for Repeat Metastasectomy

Iterative pulmonary metastases, patient selection. Of the 37 patients, 21 died of osteosarcoma, 14 were disease free at last follow-up, and two were alive with disease (brain/lung metastases). Among the 26 relapsed patients, 13 underwent further resections for lung metastases of whom 11 died (eight of pleural dissemination, one of cervical spine metastases, and two of unknown causes).
