Cell-Type-Specific Effects of Silibinin on Vitamin D-Induced Differentiation of Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cells Are Associated with Differential Modulation of RXRα Levels

Effects of 1,25D, carnosic acid and silibinin, alone and in combination, on VDR and RXRα protein expression in HL60 and U937 cells. Cells were treated for 48 h (1 × 105 cells/mL; (a), (c)) or 96 h (4 × 104 cells/mL; (b), (d)) with 0.1% ethanol (control) or the indicated test agents. Protein expression was then determined by Western blotting. Calreticulin (CRN) was used as the protein loading control. Representative blots of at least 3 independent experiments are shown.
