RASSF Family Proteins

Description

RASSF proteins are a novel family of tumor suppressors whose mechanisms of action remain poorly understood. Most, but not all, family members have been shown to suffer frequent inactivation in human tumors. Indeed, RASSF1A may be the most frequently inactivated tumor suppressor yet identified in human cancer. Several RASSF members have also been implicated as direct Ras oncoprotein effectors that mediate the proapoptotic and growth inhibitory properties of activated Ras. Thus, RASSF proteins may serve as a node for the integration of progrowth and prodeath pathways.

We would like to invite authors to submit research and review papers describing the biological activity and molecular interactions involving RASSF family proteins. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel RASSF signaling pathways and interacting partners
  • Novel RASSF investigative tools and models
  • Functions of RASSF proteins in human disease
  • New insights into the epigenetic modulation of RASSF protein expression

Articles published in this special issue will not be subject to the journal's Article Processing Charges.
