Exercise and heat exposure increases intracellular HSP90. HSP90 precipitates and phosphorylates HIF1α. HIF1α is stabilized by HSP90 independent of oxygen levels. HIF1α is translocated across nucleus membrane dimerizing with HIF1β. Dimerization of HIF1α/β increases HIF1 transcription factor which binds to HRE of DNA. This increases VEGF and EPO production.
