Neutron Production in Thick Targets Irradiated with High-Energy Ions

Estimated neutron ambient doses (for  ions/s) in irradiations with 44 GeV 12C, as based on recent experiments with 1 GeV protons onto a “Gamma-2” Pb target. The calculated neutron production rate in neutrons per ion is taken as the basis for calculation of the last column.
