Kinetics of the γ-ray-induced optical absorption measured at 760 nm in an F-doped-silica-core, Al-jacketed optical fiber as a function of irradiation time at 1 Gy/s at ambient temperature (~27 C) in the dark, except for ~3 seconds of probe light for each frame grab. The illustrated in situ optical bleach spike was taken from a separate experiment at the same dose rate and was “grafted” onto the present data for comparison purposes.
