Also this figure shows the joint preservation technique through performing the osteotomy in subchondral bone. (c) Free freezing (hemicortical) in the tibia. The osteotomy line surrounds the lesion and the tumor bearing bone is freely frozen, while there is an anatomical continuity in the host bone proximal and distal to the tumor.
