Multi-MeV Flash Radiography in Shock Physics Experiments: Specific Assemblages of Monolithic Scintillating Crystals for Use in CCD-Based Imagers

Radiograph of a driller chuck using the prototype monolithic BGO assembly and an 18-MeV-bremsstrahlung spectrum, filtered with 10 cm of lead. The joint, which remains slightly apparent on this image, could easily be removed using field-flattening techniques. The X-ray beam was collimated to limit the level of scatter radiation interacting with the CCD.
