The basic design of a crystal diffraction lens in Laue geometry. Flat crystal tiles are assumed. (a) concentric rings of a given radius 𝑟 concentrating a constant energy 𝐸 . (b) crystal tiles disposed along an Archimedes' spiral result in a continuously varying energy 𝐸 . Given the footprint of the crystals, the image in the focal plane has a minimum size equal to that of the crystal size.
