Flow chart of the analysis process to design and test fuel treatment and other vegetation management projects as required by the National Environmental Policy Act. Several treatment alternatives must be proposed and analyzed that address the project purpose and need (e.g., reducing fire risk) and impacts on other resource values. Automation of the analysis process with ArcFuels makes it possible to explore more treatment alternatives and leverage fire behavior models in the process.
