The Southern tail of the Antennae contains several star-forming clumps in a larger HI condensation. This, together with the almost face-on orientation of the system, makes it difficult to estimate a dynamical mass from the HI velocity curve. A recently revised distance estimate [34] may nevertheless indicate a dynamical mass higher than previously believed in the HI cloud. (Figure courtesy of Pierre-Alain Duc.)
